My name is Natalie Timm and I’m the artist who creates unique cat and dog food place mats.  A simple mat is your pet’s name, your color choices, and can include a favorite toy or interests painted on the mat incorporated usually in the name,  (mice, yarn balls, tennis balls, frisbee, it’s up to you.)  If you want a pet portrait on your mat I will respond to your photographs and paint your pal-pet on the side, as the many examples in Portfolio show. Nat’s Pet Mats are all individually painted and fun to look at on your floor Monday thru Sunday. Attractive pet food place mats add to the already wonderful and sometimes educational experience of caring for pets. However, these mats solve everyday problems and are extremely durable. They camouflage dark or light fur on the floor if you coordinate the main color of the mat to your pet’s fur; they wipe clean easily because they are smooth and supple with at least five coats of sealant; they turn the pet food area into something attractive and easy to see. Remember, your pet’s food and water bowls will be on top of the mat, so let’s design it so your pet’s name and portrait are visible when the bowls are in use. By providing a mat for your pet, or for the pet of a devoted pet person, you create a very special place and enhance the entire experience.

Giving Back To The Community

Natalie volunteers with and supports pet rescue organizations. Helping animals in need–those that cannot speak for themselves, that is the goal of the successful organization the Paws for Love Foundation. Generous aid has extended from the West, across the country to MidWest and the East Coast animals in need, as well as to local foster parents of kittens and puppies. Natalie creates mats for the most imaginative, incredible silent auction: in 2012 she donated two small ‘bottle and glasses’ mats for the wine lovers–one says HUG and one says KISS.   Paws for Love’s annual gala is in Santa Rosa, CA in February and you wouldn’t believe the inspiring and fun-loving, boisterous art that will be there–a special section of a hundred or so paintings are made by rescue animals over the span of a year. That’s right, it’s their paws, tails and / or whiskers moving across canvas that makes the art. Fully framed with accompanying photos and brief stories of the pooches (mostly) and felines, priced to sell between $30 – $80, this pet art sells out within an hour. It’s wild. Online ticketing and raffle sales are part of the effort.
