Getting Started

The best way to start — Measure the space your pet’s food and water bowls take. Some pets have separate water stations like fountains, in which case, a smaller mat will work well because only food bowls are on the mat.   These mats work well under feeding stands too.  You can use the mat under fountains, but water makes them slippery, like all smooth wet surfaces.

Standard Sizes Include:

Petite 9 “x 12″ is a good size for one cat and one name or one small dog and one name.  This size is too small for a portrait. Up to ten letters.  $39 Small Pet Food Place Mat 11.5″ x 14.5″ is a good size for one or two cats and one or two names.  Works well for one small/medium dog.  Good for a portrait.  $59 with name only (ten letters included) or $99 with portrait and name (ten letters included).

Medium Pet Food Place Mat 13″ x 24″ is a good size for several cat dishes and maybe three names.  Works well for one large dog with water bowl or two small/medium dogs’ food bowls.  My dog Zoe’s mat is this size; she’s a 60 lb English Shepherd mix.    We keep a large stainless steel bowl and large ceramic traditional dog food bowl on it.  $99 with name only (ten letters included)  $149 with portrait and name up through ten letters.

Customize To The Max. Usually considered a Large Pet Food Place Mat 14” x 25” (or beyond). It’s good for several cat dishes and three names. An example is a three cat mat with three names and a total of 28 letters.  It was 18” by 24”.  I priced it based on square inches, number of letters and mailing charges. This custom large size works well for larger dogs with water and food bowls or two small/medium dogs’ food bowls and two portraits.   Another idea: several name variations going around the border of your pet’s mat. Contact Natalie to Customize to the Max!   If you have multiple pets, a corner pet feeding area, or a particular need our mat sizes do not address, then you’ll want to consult to figure out the best solution for your situation and price range. $25 consultation fee is then applicable to any mat you buy. Prices start at $200.

 

More letters than ten?  Add $1 per letter.


Add a Portrait of your pet to the left side of the mat:

Working from photos, I’ll design a portrait.

Taking portrait photos of your pet–it can be harder than it looks.  I recommend several photos of different parts of your animal, so if you can’t get the perfect photograph of your pet, then take several shots.  E-mailing of photos makes the portrait process pretty easy.   Faces, chests, front paws and long tails are the most important.

For a $25 consultation fee, I will consult with you to figure out the best solution that meets your needs and price range. The fee is then applicable to the price of any mat you buy, standard sizes or 100% custom designed. And remember I design all sorts of mats, not only for pets but for people too!
